Connecting your devices to the TigerNet-Guest Wi-Fi network at Hampden-Sydney College doesn’t have to be a daunting task. With just a few simple steps, you can get online and enjoy seamless internet access. Ready to dive in? Let’s walk through the process together!
Understanding Device Registration
Before you can connect your device, you’ll need to register it on the TigerNet-Guest Wi-Fi network. If you’re an H-SC student, you’re in luck! You can manage up to five guest devices through a handy online portal. To get started, just log in using your H-SC credentials—no need to include the “@hsc.edu” part of your email address.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll find options for managing your devices, including creating a new device. This first step is essential for establishing your connection to the Wi-Fi network. Have you registered your device yet?
Steps to Add a New Device
To add a new device, click on the “Create Device” option. You’ll need to enter your device’s MAC Address and give it a unique Device Name. Not sure where to find your MAC Address? Don’t worry—helpful resources are available on the portal to guide you through it!
If you want to make your device accessible to others, consider enabling AirGroup sharing. By checking the box next to “Enable AirGroup,” you can enter the usernames of those you’d like to share access with. Just remember to leave out the email domain (for example, use jdoe instead of [email protected]) and separate multiple usernames with commas. Keep in mind, this feature is only available for sharing with other H-SC accounts.
Once you’ve completed these steps, click on “Create Device.” A confirmation receipt will pop up to let you know your device was successfully created. Exciting, right?
Managing Your Devices
Want to review or manage your registered devices? Head over to the “Manage Devices” section. Here, you’ll see all the devices you’ve created, including your latest addition. Since H-SC allows a maximum of five devices, if you need to add another, you’ll have to remove one first. Just click on the device you wish to remove, and you’ll find all the options you need.
After you’ve managed your devices, don’t forget to log out of the portal to keep your account secure. If you have any questions or need assistance with device management, the Hampden-Sydney College Help Desk is just a call away at 434-223-6373.
Important Terms of Use
As you navigate the registration and management process for your guest devices, it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with the Terms of Use associated with TigerNet-Guest. Understanding and following these terms will ensure you have a smooth and compliant experience while enjoying the network services at H-SC. Are you ready to get started and make the most of your Wi-Fi experience?
