The latest GeForce Game Ready driver – version 617.14 – is now publicly available. Nvidia timed the rollout to coincide with the launch windows of four high-profile PC titles: Control Resonant the free Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered update, NCSoft’s AION 2 and The Coalition’s pre-release Gears of War: E-Day. The driver promises not only stability tweaks but also a suite of performance-enhancing features centred around the company’s newest AI-driven rendering pipeline, DLSS 4.5.
DLSS 4.5 builds on the success of earlier iterations by adding Ray ReconstructionDynamic Multi-Frame Generation (up to six-fold frame-rate multiplication), and an expanded Super Resolution algorithm. In practical terms, the technology lets RTX 50-series GPUs render scenes at a lower native resolution while reconstructing an image that rivals native output, all with dramatically lower latency. Nvidia’s own benchmarks show the flagship RTX 5090 reaching roughly 320 fps at 4K and 480 fps at 1080p in a controlled Control Resonant test, illustrating the magnitude of the speed-up.
What the driver does for each upcoming title
Control Resonant launches on September 24 with full DLSS 4.5 support, including Ray Reconstruction for both direct and indirect lighting, path-traced shadows, and reflective surfaces. The game also activates Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation which can push frame rates well beyond 200 fps on high-end hardware, smoothing out the kinetic combat that defines the franchise. Nvidia’s internal testing suggests that the new driver will address the pacing hiccups noted in early previews, delivering a more fluid experience.
The free Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered update arrives September 29 and brings a full suite of RTX enhancements. Players with RTX 50-series cards can enable path tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction while Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation scales up to six-times the base frame rate, dramatically cutting latency in combat and exploration. Additional quality-of-life upgrades – an overhauled skill tree, refined animation rigs, cross-platform mod compatibility, and a richer photo mode – are bundled with the visual upgrades.
AION 2 debuts globally on September 30 for Founder’s Pack owners (free-to-play launch follows on October 5). Built on Unreal Engine 5, the MMORPG introduces seamless aerial traversal and a massive open world. From day one, the title ships with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Multi-Frame Generation ensuring that even densely populated cityscapes run smoothly on RTX hardware. NCSoft confirmed that future updates will also target DLSS 5 once the technology matures.
The Coalition’s Gears of War: E-Day lands on early-access on October 1, with a full release slated for October 6. In addition to the standard DLSS suite, the game integrates NVIDIA Reflex for ultra-low input lag and leverages the new RTX Mega Geometry SDK to ray-trace Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite meshes more accurately. This marks the first non-Remedy title to utilise RTX Mega Geometry, offering a tangible test case for the SDK’s adaptability.
New AI-focused developer tools bundled with the driver
Beyond graphics, Nvidia rolled out a set of AI-centric updates under the NVIDIA ACE umbrella. The platform now includes pre-built models such as Nemotron Speech 3.5 Streaming a 600-million-parameter automatic-speech-recognition engine tuned for real-time, low-latency transcription, and Qwen3 TTS another 600-million-parameter model capable of high-fidelity text-to-speech synthesis with fine-tuning options for character voices. These models broaden the pipeline for developers seeking to embed conversational NPCs or voice-controlled mechanics directly into their games.
The RTX Kit SDK also received enhancements that simplify handling of dense geometry, neural-texture workflows, and advanced lighting pipelines. Meanwhile, the RTX Mega Geometry SDK advanced to version 2.0, introducing streaming LOD clusters that enable progressive loading of ultra-high-density meshes without stalling the rendering thread. Together, these tools aim to make AI-driven content creation more accessible and less resource-intensive for studios of every size.
Gamers wishing to take advantage of the new driver can download version 617.14 either from Nvidia’s website or via the Nvidia GeForce Experience app. Once installed, the driver automatically applies game-specific profiles, ensuring that titles launch with the optimal mix of DLSS, ray tracing, and AI-enhanced features without manual configuration.
