The conversion replaces the old Du-Par’s restaurant and adds a sleek, lounge-style environment where affluent players can chase larger wagers on the newest slot machines. The move comes as the property marks the first anniversary of its “The Night Starts Here” promotion and continues a broader re-imagining of the venue’s floor plan.
Located at the northwest corner of the casino, the new space showcases a mix of modern equipment and historic artifacts. An original wooden beam and a brass drinking fountain—both salvaged from the hotel’s earliest days—have been left exposed to underline the building’s 1906 roots. The room’s design features low, old-school ceilings, warm wood finishes, and comfortable lounge seating that together create a “club-like” vibe while still feeling unmistakably Las Vegas.
The high-limit slot room – design and amenities
Inside, guests will find an array of high-limit slot machines that cater to wagers well above the standard floor limits. Each machine is equipped with the latest graphics and bonus features, offering both classic reel action and immersive video-slot experiences. The layout places the machines along curved rows, allowing easy circulation and giving each station a degree of privacy. A dedicated bar provides complimentary drinks during the early-evening “happy hour” window, echoing the promotion’s original wristband-based beverage service.
Beyond the gaming hardware, the room’s ambiance is reinforced by subtle nods to the hotel’s past. Those tables were replaced with electronic table games a move driven by the success of similar technology at nearby Circa and by changing preferences among younger gamblers who favor faster, more flexible play.
That same year, owner and CEO Derek Stevens launched the “The Night Starts Here” campaign, a nightly incentive that rewards guests with free-play vouchers, wristbands for complimentary drinks, and other perks. The space now occupied by the high-limit room has undergone several incarnations over the past century. During renovations after Stevens and his brother Greg acquired the property in 2006, workers uncovered a former kitchen area that had been sealed off for decades. More recently, before the current conversion, the same footprint served as the risk-assessment office for Circa Sports, where oddsmakers calculated betting lines before the sportsbook moved elsewhere.
By demolishing a non-load-bearing wall, the casino was able to merge this previously isolated area with the main gaming floor, creating a seamless flow from the traditional slot corridor into the new premium lounge. The redesign not only adds square footage but also weaves together three distinct eras of the hotel’s evolution: the early 20th-century hotel kitchen, the modern sportsbook risk room, and now a high-limit gaming sanctuary.
