Product manager for Google Play Games focusing on AI and monetization

Join a cross-functional team at Google Play Games to own product strategy, delivery, and monetization for players and developers

The product manager role at Google Play Games centers on connecting technical teams and business stakeholders to move ideas into shipped products. You will act as the single owner who navigates ambiguity, prioritizes work, and removes blockers so cross-functional teams can deliver fast. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys synthesizing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities into a clear execution plan. Candidates should be comfortable translating high-level goals into actionable roadmaps and collaborating with engineers, designers, and partners to get to market.

Google Play Games is undergoing a strategic transformation to accelerate growth and improve experiences for both players and developers. The effort leverages AI infrastructure and modern platform services to expand creative tools, improve discovery, and boost retention. In this environment you will use contemporary product frameworks and advocate for processes that increase velocity while maintaining quality. If you thrive in a fast-moving, experimental culture and want to help shape the future of gaming at scale, this role offers a chance to influence global product direction and operational excellence.

Role snapshot

As the accountable owner from ideation through release, you will be expected to deliver end-to-end outcomes and to lead with both technical fluency and commercial judgment. This includes applying a combination of strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving to architect product strategy, de-risk initiatives, and coordinate execution across regions. You will frequently unblock engineering teams, negotiate trade-offs, and present progress to senior stakeholders. Emphasis will be placed on driving measurable impact—whether improving monetization, increasing engagement, or enabling developer success—while balancing speed and scale in a global product environment.

What success looks like

Success is measured by shipped products that move key metrics and delight users while being maintainable by engineering teams. A strong candidate demonstrates an ability to take a feature from 0 to 1 and to scale it globally, collaborating with localization, operations, and partner teams. You should be able to marshal data and user feedback to prioritize features, produce concise technical requirements, and work with designers to deliver intuitive experiences. Clear communication and the ability to influence cross-functional peers and executives are critical components of success in this role.

Skills, experience and qualifications

The minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, at least five years in product management or a related technical role, and a minimum of two years leading technical products from concept to launch (for example, end-to-end delivery or 0 to 1 development). Preferred experience includes working in the gaming industry or with game design, building or deploying AI tools, and operating in multi-sided marketplaces where both players and developers are customers. Familiarity with product monetization strategies, delivering technical briefings to leadership, and collaborating with finance and sales teams is also highly valued.

Culture, hiring details and applicant guidance

Google seeks people who embrace inclusive teamwork and a bias for action. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce and a sense of belonging. Applicants who need accommodations during the hiring process should complete the accommodations form to request support. Note that information you provide in your Google Careers profile and any job application will be processed under Google’s Applicant and Candidate Privacy Policy. For global coordination, English proficiency is required unless the posting states otherwise.

Logistics and recruiting notes

If you meet the qualifications and are excited about shaping the future of games on a global platform, prepare to demonstrate technical depth, product judgment, and a track record of shipping impactful products. Strong candidates will show both creative problem solving and the grit to push initiatives across the finish line.
