Disney Dreamlight Valley introduced the seasonal mission “Let the Games Begin” on October 21, 2026. This is the fifth quest in the Oogie Boogie story arc and the final hurdle before the trickster can become a resident. To start, you must already have completed the previous quests – A Halloween Invasion, The Oogie Boogie Contract, The Ghost in the Portrait and Rescue Mission. Once the letter arrives in your mailbox, the adventure begins inside Oogie Boogie’s Mirror Lair, accessed via the Strange Mirror in Scrooge’s Store.
Crafting the Genuinely Lucky Wheel
The first objective is to replace the shattered wheel that Oogie Boogie blames on you. The quest mail contains a Lucky Wheel Cog, which, together with the five cogs you collected when breaking the rigged wheel in The Ghost in the Portrait, can be assembled at any crafting station. Use the recipe “six Lucky Wheel Cogs → Genuinely Lucky Wheel”. Keep the newly crafted wheel in your inventory; you will hand it to Oogie Boogie at the top-left corner of his lair, beside the broken remnant.
Conquering the Four Mini-Games
After handing over the wheel, Oogie Boogie unveils four distinct challenges. Each successful run yields an Oogie Boogie Tile. The order is irrelevant, so you may tackle the activities that feel easiest first.
Spin the Genuinely Lucky Wheel
Approach the wheel, pull the left-hand lever and interact. You must spin five times; the first four spins reward random items such as a ruby, topaz or a handful of star coins. The fifth spin is guaranteed to drop a red chest containing the first tile. Open the chest immediately to claim it.
Whack-a-Pumpkin
Enter the fenced arena on the upper floor, stand near the corner, and activate the pumpkin-shaped button. Pumpkins pop up in a 3 × 3 grid; using your Royal Pickaxe, smash ten of them. The tile appears at the entrance as soon as the tenth pumpkin is hit. For efficiency, stay rooted in one corner and focus on a few squares rather than darting across the grid.
Fish in the Lava Pond
Descend to the lower level and equip the Royal Fishing Rod. Cast into the bubbling spots repeatedly; the third successful catch will be an Oogie Boogie Tile that deposits directly into your inventory—no chest required.
Find the Hidden Smiles
Five glowing green smiles are scattered throughout the lair, reminiscent of the fake furniture from Rescue Mission. Approach each smile and select “Remove”. Locations include the large dice by Oogie’s wheel, a skeleton in the fenced area, the interior wall of the Whack-a-Pumpkin enclosure, a wall near the right-hand staircase, and the back of the grandfather clock. After all five are cleared, a tile materializes near the dice enclosure.
Solving the Tile Puzzle and Exiting the Lair
With the four tiles in hand, head to the Tile Mini-Game station on the upper floor, right of the Whack-a-Pumpkin area. Interact, place the tiles, then equip your Royal Shovel. Dig on each square until the artwork aligns to form a blue-background portrait of Jack Skellington. Once the image is complete, cracks appear in the Mirror Lair’s walls. Speak to Oogie Boogie one last time, then step through the Strange Mirror back to Scrooge’s Store. The quest concludes by awarding the “Genuinely Lucky Wheel” furniture piece.
Important timing note: to unlock Oogie Boogie permanently, you must commence the first quest, A Halloween Invasion, by November 4, 2026. Starting it ensures the entire chain remains viable, even if you finish the later quests after the deadline. Players who miss the 2026 window will see Oogie Boogie return in October 2027.
