Explore Hello Kitty Party Land: The Latest Sanrio Games Release for Nintendo Switch

Sanrio Games, the company’s first official in-house game brand, has made a splash with its debut title, Hello Kitty Party Land. This cooperative party game for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 was showcased at Sanrio Fes 2026 in Yokohama’s Minatomirai district, offering attendees a hands-on preview of the game’s charming features.

The game opens with a comprehensive character creator, allowing players to design their own avatar with a variety of options, including eye shapes, hairstyles, and outfits. This custom character can then explore Party Land a vibrant hub world accompanied by a Sanrio character partner like Hello Kitty, My Melody, or Pompompurin.

Character Creation and Party Land Exploration

Players begin their journey in Hello Kitty Party Land by creating their own unique character. The character creator offers a wide range of customization options, ensuring that each player can craft an avatar that fits the Sanrio aesthetic. From eye shapes and colors to hairstyles and outfits, the possibilities are nearly endless.

Once the character is complete, players select a Sanrio partner to accompany them through Party Land. These partners react to the player’s actions and even offer collectible stickers, adding a layer of interactivity and charm to the game world. The hub world itself is designed for exploration, with areas like Game Park offering a variety of mini-games to enjoy.

Mini-Games and Cooperative Play

The preview at Sanrio Fes 2026 featured three mini-games out of the 45+ variations confirmed for the retail release. All mini-games are designed for cooperative play, accommodating up to four players. These games not only test the players’ skills but also encourage teamwork and coordination.

Pompompurin’s Bouncy Trampoline

The first mini-game, Pompompurin’s Bouncy Trampoline tasks players with jumping on a trampoline to collect star candies. The game becomes more dynamic as players can land on each other to reach higher candies, fostering a sense of collaboration. The preview session ended with a impressive score of 261 candies, earning a GOLD rank.

Little Twin Stars’ Twinkling Star Fishing Challenge

Little Twin Stars’ Twinkling Star Fishing Challenge features Kiki and Lala, where players must cast a fishing rod with precise timing to reel in stars. This game proves to be more challenging than it appears, with stars moving quickly and timing being crucial. The satisfaction of catching a giant star and button-mashing it in is a highlight of this mini-game. The preview group achieved a PLATINUM rank with 365 stars.

Cinnamoroll’s Home Run Derby

The final mini-game, Cinnamoroll’s Home Run Derby is a rhythm-adjacent bat-swinging game where players hit back balls thrown by Cinnamoroll. Home runs turn into fireworks, adding a spectacular visual element to the game. As the game progresses, the tempo increases, challenging players to keep up with the fast-paced action. Players can choose to control either their custom avatar or a Sanrio character directly in the mini-games, offering flexibility and personalization.

Pre-Orders and Special Editions

Pre-orders for Hello Kitty Party Land are now open, with both physical and digital editions available. The physical version comes with a limited-quantity Hello Kitty mini MASCOT holder, while the Sanrio Shop and Sanrio Online Shop Exclusive Set includes a set of five character figures. The game supports 1 to 4 players and is compatible with both Switch hardware versions. The Japanese retail price is approximately $43 USD, with Western pricing yet to be confirmed.

For players eager to get a head start, the Meow Match guides collection offers a good reference point for understanding the progression and scoring systems in Sanrio-adjacent casual titles. Hello Kitty Party Land promises to be one of the more polished entries in the genre, arriving this fall.
