Battlefield 6 season 3 guide: what’s in update 1.3.1.0

Begin Season 3 in Battlefield 6 with a massive update that introduces a huge map, Ranked Battle Royale, new weapons and deep system overhauls

The 1.3.1.0 update for Battlefield 6 ushers in Season 3, titled Warlords: Supremacy, and goes live on May 12. Players can begin downloading the patch at 09:00 UTC, and all new content becomes available at 12:00 UTC across platforms. This seasonal roll-out is the first chapter of a three-part plan that expands both scale and competitive options, asking squads to fight for dominance on new terrain while testing revamped core systems.

Alongside the headline features, the update packages a wide variety of quality-of-life and balance changes: a large vehicle and gadget rebalance, weapon tuning, netcode and UI improvements, and numerous bug fixes drawn from community feedback. Expect improvements to combat clarity, audio cues, AI behaviour and Portal support that aim to make matches more consistent and readable from drop to extraction.

What’s new in season 3

Season 3 introduces a fresh progression loop and new content designed to keep squads engaged. The Battle Pass now offers 100+ tiers of rewards including hardware, weapon packages, soldier skins and XP boosts as players move from the Recruit Path through themed progression tracks. The season also reintroduces Dagger 13 as an unlockable via the Battle Pass. Improvements to the Battle Pass UI and pricing presentation make navigation simpler and clearer for players tracking reward paths.

Battlefield Pro and premium options

For players who want to accelerate progression, Battlefield Pro expands the seasonal experience. It includes Tier Skips (25 instant skips), a +5% XP booster, six instant unlocks, exclusive Assignments, extra Challenge rerolls, an exclusive Vehicle Radio Station and access to a Bonus Path. Pro owners also gain enhanced Portal hosting tools, including support to host up to 100 players, making it ideal for communities ready to launch large custom events on day one.

Railway to Golmud and new weapons

The centerpiece map of Season 3, Railway to Golmud, is the largest environment yet and reimagines a classic with sprawling hills, ruined villages, dense industrial zones and a moving railway that becomes a tactical objective. The map is built for full combined-arms combat where infantry clashes with ground vehicles, jets and helicopters. New weapons arriving with the season include the versatile M16A4, the long-range bolt-action L115 and the sustained-fire RPK-74M, each filling distinct roles from mid-range skirmishes to anti-personnel suppression.

Competitive play: Ranked Battle Royale and REDSEC modes

Season 3 adds a competitive layer with Ranked Battle Royale Quads, the first ranked REDSEC experience. Players drop into matches to climb a ladder, earn permanent rewards and vie for leaderboard status. The ranking system runs from Rookie up to Master, with the Elite 250 leaderboard offering top-tier competition. Developers will collect data and player feedback through BF Labs in live builds to evolve Ranked rules, scoring and match flow over time.

Matchflow and extraction changes

To support competitive clarity, the update refines mission flow, loot detection, anti-vehicle drops, scoring and the downed-state mechanics to create a more consistent cycle from drop to extraction. These changes are aimed at reducing variance in match outcomes and rewarding intentional play rather than random swings in power, while preserving the open-ended combat that defines REDSEC.

Systems overhaul: vehicles, gadgets, netcode and fixes

A major portion of 1.3.1.0 is a broad rework of vehicular systems. The angle damage model has been simplified so damage is more predictable: turret hits now deal 75% damage, body hits at least 100%, side hits up to 150% and rear hits up to 200%. Vehicle health values and targets were adjusted (for example, MBT health increased to 1200 while APT values were reduced to 800) and lock-on weapons now deliver consistent damage. Regeneration mechanics were reworked: delay increased from 6s to 12s, regeneration rate roughly doubled, and the previous bracket system removed so vehicles heal more predictably while critical health slows regeneration rather than stopping it entirely.

Handling, weapons and gadgets

Tracked vehicles received a new transmission and steering system for smoother acceleration and tighter turning at all speeds. Boost behaviour was changed to allow reapplication during recharge, turret speeds were modestly improved and aiming responsiveness in tanks was tuned. Gadgets and anti-vehicle tools saw role clarity updates, including launcher viability improvements and changes to mines, portable mortars and support crates to make counterplay more consistent. Several vehicle weapon damage values were retuned, including Aim-Guided and Air-to-Ground missile damage adjustments to stabilize lethality across platforms.

Netcode, UI and player fixes

The update also targets combat clarity and performance: pinging responsiveness was improved, hit reactions and damage indicators were refined, and drag-and-revive reliability was increased. Netcode fixes correct stuttering animations, misaligned weapon visuals and high-latency damage inconsistencies. UI and audio polish includes clearer aircraft threat indicators, seasonal statistics in player profiles and expanded upscaler options. The changelog lists numerous player-facing bug fixes: improved ladder entry responsiveness, better ragdoll stability on moving platforms, an expanded Critical Assist window from 1.5s to 3s, and many animation, reload and attachment corrections that enhance feel and readability.

With the download available at 09:00 UTC and content live at 12:00 UTC on May 12, Season 3 is a big step for Battlefield 6. Whether you’re focused on climbing the Ranked ladder, mastering vehicles on Railway to Golmud, or exploring the reworked systems and fixes, this update reshapes how matches play out.
